Octopuses are weird animals. Dont you think? Octopuses are made up of only muscle and skin, their skeletons arent that developed like most animals. Thats why they can get into small crevices that other animals cant get into. When they die, their bodies decay quickly and by the time scavengers are done with it, there will be nothing lef of it. It is so rare that you will ever find a fossilized octopus because it has no bones, so it wouldnt be possible. Now all of that has changed, new reports of three fossolized octopuses found on cretacous rocks. The fossils that were found were so well preserved that, you can still see the suckers and little bit of ink it had on it.
Now with these new discoveries, we can figure out how ocotpuses ancestors were like 200 million years ago. We can compare and contrast with modern day octopuses. How they developed and adapted between the years.
