Have you ever wondered of whale sharks? Well they are the most biggest fish in the sea and we dont even know their health status. Well now we do, researchers from Georgia Aquarium and Georgia institute of Technology found a way to check their health status called "metabolomics". This just isnt for the whale sharks its for other sharks and rays too. They discovered that veterinary blood chemestiry tests werent as useful, especially because it was designed for only mammals. By using metabolomics, scientists can determine chemical compouonds in shark blood to know what they are ahead of time. The GA team spent three years aquiring this information and research. Well now you know that whale sharks are now going to have a health status to see if they are endangered.
We can use this information and research to see if whale sharks, the largest species of fish in the sea, are endangered. This will help scientists and veterinarians better understand the biology of whale sharks in their natural setting.
